The Book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 7 of 7 (To update)

The book of Small Prophets Micah

Chapter 7

¹ Woe is me! For I have become like one who after the summer fruit has been gathered, after the vintage has been gleaned, finds no cluster to eat; there is no first-ripe fig for which I hunger.

(The book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 7 verse 1)

Oh God my Father even though we have born fruit in abundance, even though we have done our best we do not reap our satisfaction. We are still not happy or grateful for what with Your help we have achieved, for we always aim for more and better results without stopping to give You thanks for all Your help. Inside we end up feeling cold and empty Amen.

² The faithful have disappeared from the land, and there is no one left who is upright; they all lie in wait for blood, and they hunt each other with nets.

(The book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 7 verse 2)

Oh God my Father I would risk saying that the number of really convinced Catholics are on the decrease, for many say that they believe in You but none wish to die. On the contrary I believe that I for myself would benefit more in being in Your presence, however for the good of others it is still not yet time for me to leave this earth Amen.

³ Their hands are skilled to do evil; the official and the judge ask for a bribe, and the powerful dictate what they desire; thus they pervert justice.

(The book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 7 verse 3)

Oh God my Father forgive us for we do not know the meaning of the word justice even though we refer to it and use it in many situations especially when we need an increase in power or the improvement of a particular situation. However, with our own selves and in our interactions with others we are not always just. If we had to scan our values and intentions we might not find one good reason or intent to do the things we do to others, for justice has become alien to us Amen.

⁴ The best of them is like a brier, the most upright of them a thorn hedge. The day of their sentinels, of their punishment, has come; now their confusion is at hand.

(The book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 7 verse 4)

Oh God my Father I pray that You make me more aware of negative people and give me the necessary skills at the time at hand as in how to behave with them so that I will be a blessing and not of further scandal to them Amen.

⁵ Put no trust in a friend, have no confidence in a loved one; guard the doors of your mouth from her who lies in your embrace;

(The book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 7 verse 5)

Amen oh Jesus! I need to learn how to place the guard over my mouth and speak only when spoken to or when it is really necessary Amen. In this way You will help me to purify my body and my soul so that no evil finds a way within me Amen.

⁶ for the son treats the father with contempt, the daughter rises up against her mother, the daughter-in-law against her mother in-law; your enemies are members of your own household.

(The book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 7 verse 6)

Oh God my Father You have taught me that it is pointless to invest in human relationships for the person who tells me that she loves me today will from her heart pledge that she hates me in a couple of minutes or seconds.
