The Book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 6 of 7

The book of Small Prophets Micah

Chapter 6

¹ Hear what the LORD says: Rise, plead your case before the mountains, and let the hills hear your voice.

(The book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 6 verse 1)

Oh God, my Father, I thank You for giving us the opportunity to voice our pains and complaints against life and at times even against You! I am sorry for such moments, but as humans, we are weak and prone to sin. I thank You for having a positive and merciful attitude to us and I also thank You for not condemning us for what we do and say Amen.

² Hear, you mountains, the controversy of the LORD, and you enduring foundations of the earth; for the LORD has a controversy with his people, and he will contend with Israel.

(The book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 6 verse 2)

Oh God, my blessed Father, You have more than one controversy to settle with us people of the world, for we are doing things and acts that we ought not to do. Amen.

³ "O my people, what have I done to you? In what have I wearied you? Answer me!

(The book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 6 verse 3)

Oh God, my Father it is us who should ask this question to You, for many times we weary You with all we do, with all our sins and negative intentions. I pray that my prayers and those of others are just the beginning to soothe the sins of humanity Amen.

⁴ For I brought you up from the land of Egypt, and redeemed you from the house of slavery; and I  sent before you Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.

(The book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 6 verse 4)

Oh God, my Father. I sincerely thank You for the many people that You sent me in my life in order to help me keep on the path of faith. I pray for these people. I pray for forgiveness because I did not always obey You through such people however You were always beside me in the ups and downs of my life Amen. Thank You, Jesus, for being so caring and faithful.

⁵ O my people, remember now what King Balak of Moab devised, what Balam son of Beor answered him, and what happened from Shittim to Gilgal, that you may know the saving acts of the LORD"

(The book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 6 verse 5)

Oh brothers and sisters, remember the many times that God saved us by intervening in our lives, therefore place your trust in Him amen.

⁶ "With what shall I come before the LORD, and bow myself before God on high? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old?

(The book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 6 verse 6)

Oh God, my Father, this is also my question. How shall I appear before You, with many good works, many souls that are saved or with only my sins as offerings? I pray that I will be a pleasing offering in Your sight Amen.

⁷ Will the LORD be pleased with thousand of rams, with ten thousand of rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?

(The book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 6 verse 7)

Oh, brothers and sisters do not take Your life or that of others for God has already paid the price of our sinful ways. The account has been settled in full. Therefore turn your hearts to God and let us repent Amen.

⁸ He has told you, O mortal, what is good and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

(The book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 6 verse 8)

Oh God, my Father none of us can present the argument that one does not know Your will, for since we were old enough to understand catechism You have been teaching us lessons in love, both towards You my God and Father and more to those from whom we do not receive love care and respect. You want us to go against the sinful logic of the world, and drive our enemies crazy by loving them Amen.

⁹ The voice of the LORD cries to the city (it is sound wisdom to fear your name): Hear O tribe and assembly of the city!"

(The book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 6 verse 9)

Oh brothers and sisters in our Lord and God Jesus Christ, open your ears to the Word of God, let it penetrate your hearts and mind and let it change you and even myself into people in whom God our Father finds pleasure in Amen.

¹⁰ Can I forget the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and the scant measure that is accursed?

(The book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 6 verse 10)

Oh God even though You may not forget our sins, however, You Yourself paid for each and every one of them and cleared the account on our behalf Amen. I thank You, Jesus.

¹¹ Can I tolerate wicked scales and a bag of dishonest weights?

(The book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 6 verse 11)

Oh God, my Father if these were among the corrupt practices of these times which You could not tolerate what can be said for the scams and scandals of our times in 2020. God heal the world I beg You from this malady of evil Amen.

¹² You wealthy are full of violence; your inhabitants speak lies, with tongues of deceit in their mouths.

(The book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 6 verse 12)

Oh God, my Father I prefer to be poor than to be a liar and a cheat. You provide for the poor on many levels, but liars live in a circle of sin and corruption Amen.

¹³ Therefore I have begun to strike you down, making you desolate because of your sins.

(The book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 6 verse 13)

Oh God, my Father I believe that You have started to strike us down. By means of this virus, You are showing us that we are not in control of our lives but You are. I pray oh God that we will always keep this in mind Amen.

¹⁴ You shall eat, but not be satisfied, and there shall be a gnawing hunger within you; you shall put away, but not save, and what you save, I will hand over to the sword.

(The book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 6 verse 14)

Oh God my Father the economy of the world is not in a good state, many funds are being sent on means to combat this Coronavirus. The world is heading for a global recession where poverty is going to be on the increase. Many are already losing their jobs and the state has its limits in funding those who have been terminated from their employment. Mercy oh God!

¹⁵ You shall sow, but not reap; you shall tread olives, but not anoint yourselves with oil; you shall tread grapes, but not drink wine.

(The book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 6 verse 15)

Oh God, my Father, right now the economy has come to a halt. Due to Corona Virus businesses have shut down and many who have invested their life in material work are faced with unemployment. Those who invest in You are always rich in graces even if they face material poverty, for it is our relationship with You which is going to make a difference and not how rich we are Amen.

¹⁶ For you have kept the statutes of Omri and all the works of the house of Ahab, and you have followed their counsels. Therefore I will make you a desolation, and your inhabitants an object of hissing; so you shall bear the scorn of my people.

(The book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 6 verse 16)

Oh God, my Father some of us have based their thinking and reasoning according to philosophical enquiry and reasoning, others have referred to the concepts of science instead of referring to Your Word and basing our lives according to Your will. Amen.

Oh, Heavenly blessed Father, I would like to end this meditation on the sixth chapter of the prophet Micah with the following prayer:-

Oh, brothers and sisters, may we learn from this situation of the Corona Virus. May we realise that our strength is not in how strong we are, nor in how powerful we are as a nation or in how much we are advanced in science and technology, for a small virus has crippled the well-being of the world. I pray that we learn to place our trust in You my God and Father and always keep in mind that all that is of the flesh comes to an end, while all that is of the Spirit is forever Amen.
