Book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 3

Book of Small Prophets Micah

Chapter 3

¹ And I said: Listen, you heads of Jacob and rulers of the house of Israel! Should you not know justice?- ² you who hate the good and love the evil, who tear the skin off my people, and the flesh off their bones; ³ who eat the flesh of my people, flay their skin off them, break their bones in pieces, and chop them up like meat in a kettle like flesh in a caldron.

(Book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 3 verses 1 to 3)

Oh God, my beloved Father, I cannot stop and compare these verses to how Your people were processed in the death camps of Auschwitz, and how all their body parts were processed and reduced to ashes in the crematorium until they were totally destroyed. Oh God, my Father, by the way, we speak, by our choice of words, we can bite off the skin of others and leave deep wounds in their bodies that take a lifetime to heal as in my case. I have been verbally abused many times both in the past and in the present, and only You my beloved Father can heal me of these wounds Amen.

⁴ Then they will cry to the LORD, but he will not answer them; he will hide his face from them at that time, because they have acted wickedly.

(Book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 3 verse 4)

Oh God I know what it feels like calling to You without getting a reply, I am not angry but sad, I have not acted wickedly I am trying to protect what is left of my mind, faith, and soul. Please have mercy on me for soon there will be nothing left to save. Mercy oh God my Father Mercy.

⁵ Thus says the LORD concerning the prophets who lead the people astray, who cry "Peace" when they have something to eat, but declare war against those who put nothing into their mouths.

(Book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 3 verse 5)

Oh God my Father when will we realize that peace cannot be compromised and that it is something that we are to give priority at all times. However, the peace of the world is short-lived and unreliable. I pray that I aim for Your peace for it is a peace that the world cannot give Amen.

⁶ Therefore it shall be night to you, without vision, and darkness to you, without revelation. The sun shall go down upon the prophets, and the day shall be black over them; ⁷ the seers shall be disgraced, and the diviners put to shame; they shall all cover their lips, for there is no answer from God.

(Book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 3 verses 6 to 7)

Oh God my Father there are moments when we go far away from You, and therefore You choose a period of solitude and desolation, so that we can slow down and reflect on our relationship with You, or even more Your relationship with us. I thank You for such moments, even though they are hard to endure since I cannot stay a moment away from You let alone experience a long period away from You and Your Word Amen.

⁸ But as for me, I am filled with power, with the spirit of the LORD, and with justice and might, to declare to Jacob his transgression and to Israel his sin.

(Book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 3 verse 8)

Oh God, my blessed Father only You have the power and authority to judge and pass judgment on our sins and what goes on in the world. You have appointed priests to which we go to absolve us of our sins, however, You have the supreme power over the world Amen.

⁹ Hear this, you rulers of the house of Jacob and chiefs of the house of Israel, who abhor justice and pervert all equity, ¹⁰ who build Zion with blood and Jerusalem with wrong!

(Book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 3 verses 9 to verse 10)

Oh God, my blessed Father, I pray for all the rulers of the world, that they administer in truth, equity, and justice so that nobody is lacking in what is due to him or her. Amen.

¹¹ Its rulers give judgment for a bribe, its priest teach for a price, its prophets give oracles for money; yet they lean upon the LORD and say, "Surely the LORD is with us! No harm shall come upon us."

(Book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 3 verse 11)

Oh God, my beloved Father, I pray that You protect our institutions in both State and Church from becoming so corrupt that they sink down to such a state of existence. I pray that I never am content to commit such acts and fall back on the knowledge that You love me whatever I do, for this is a total abuse of Your love Amen.

¹² Therefore because of you Zion shall be plowed as a field; Jerusalem shall become a heap of ruins, and the mountain of the house a wooded height.

(Book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 3 verse 12)

Oh God my beloved Father, If we end up in such a low state of being and become totally corrupt we would merit the mentioned consequences.

I would like to end this third chapter of the book of the Prophet Micah with the following prayer:

Oh God my Father, brothers, and sisters in the Lord our God, I pray that we consider this chapter as being a fair warning especially to those of us not excluding myself, who may think that we are living according to the ways of God and in truth we may be living according to our ways. I pray that we make good use of this time of the year in order to analyze ourselves and strengthen those areas in which we are weak Amen.

Book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 2

Book of Small Prophets Micah

Chapter

 2

¹  Alas for those who devise wickedness and evil deeds on their beds! When the morning dawns, they perform it, because it is in their power.

(Book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 2 verse 1)

Oh God, my Father, many people have their fun by making other's lives a misery. Their mindset is one that is focused on committing negative actions. Many of such people are either hurt because they have been hurt by others many of which have been hurt or abused throughout the delicate time of their childhood. As a consequence, some may become abusers or even killers or involved in other negative acts that may include acts of self-harm or the harm of others. I pray for such people my God and Father and let us not be swift to judge such people, for their are many of us, who have their hearts broken and have no tears left, due to the situations that they are enduring presently or have endured in the past Amen.

² They covet fields, and seize them; houses, and take them away; they oppress householder and house, people and their inheritance.

(Book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 2 verse 2)

Oh God my Father I pray for the victims of such abusive actions that they will be compensated by You especially if they will not be compensated by the ways of the world Amen.

³ Therefore thus says the LORD;  Now, I am devising against this family an evil from which you cannot remove your necks; and you shall not walk haughtily, for it will be an evil time.

(Book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 2 verse 3)

Oh God my Father this verse is hard to understand for no evil can possibly have its roots in you. It could be a translation issue. On the other hand you might plan for us to experience periods of tribulation, however, the intention would never be the cause of evil plans but testing for our own good.

⁴ On that day they shall take up a taunt song against you, and wail with bitter lamentation, and say, "We are utterly ruined; the LORD alters the inheritance of my people; how he removes it from me! Among our captors he parcels out our fields."

(Book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 2 verse 4)

Oh God my Father without You, we are totally ruined, for our meaning is totally in You and not in the world. Amen.

⁵ Therefore you will have no one to cast the line by lot in the assembly of the LORD.

(Book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 2 verse 5)

Oh God, my beloved Father, if I lose communication with You, I would indeed be totally lost. I would be like a rolling stone that has no stability.

⁶ "Do not preach"-thus they preach- "one should not preach of such things; disgrace will not overtake us."

(Book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 2 verse 6)

Oh God my Father, why have we stopped preaching about the reality of hell and the consequences of our actions. Why are we not facing this reality? Maybe because we do not believe in it anymore! We have decided to focus on Your love and mercy, and this is not the real picture for although You are truly loving and merciful, You still cannot turn a blind eye on our negative actions and their consequences. Some may argue that if we preach about hell many will be discouraged from attending Mass, however, this is false, for we are not preaching about hell and still many people are abstaining from coming to meet You my God and Father. I pray that You prompt those in authority to bring the necessary changes Amen.

⁷Should this be said, O house of Jacob? Is the LORD's patience exhausted? Are these his doings? Do not my words do good to one who walks uprightly?

(Book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 2 verse 7)

Oh God my beloved Father, all good flows from You, however as humans we still place the blame on You for our shortcomings and dissapointments. I pray for forgiveness my God and Father Amen.

⁸ But you rise up against my people as an enemy; you strip the robe from the peaceful, from those who pass by trustingly with no thought of war. ⁹ The women of my people you drive out from their pleasant houses; from their young children you take away my glory forever.

(Book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 2 verses 8 to 9)

Oh God my beloved Father, many of Your people are still being stripped of their dignity, stripped and tortured although they mean no harm, others have been innocently targeted and slaughtered because they simply believe in You. Others in fear of losing their lives and that of their families, have been forced out of what they had considered as being their pleasant homes in order to venture into the unknown, crossing perilous seas that could even mean their death.

As a Christian, oh God my Father, I pray that You test us by driving us out of our personal comfort zones and security, strip us of our selfish nature, and dress us up with humility, faith and love. I prefer to be poor and happy, than rich and depressed or desperate Amen.

¹⁰ Arise and go; for this is no place to rest, because of the uncleanness that destroys with a grievous destruction.

(Book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 2 verse 10)

Oh God my beloved Father, it is also the same case. My home and its surroundings have become so negative and destructive that there are no more alternatives but to go, separate and find somewhere else to live where hopefully I can have a new beginning. Amen.

¹¹ If someone were to go about uttering empty falsehoods, saying, "I will preach to you of wine and strong drink." such a one would be the preacher for this people!

(Book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 2 verse 11)

During our times my God and Father many falsehoods are being preached. We are being given the impression of a comfortable life, with everything we need a small tap on an eye pad  or tablet away from us and all becomes possible as in virtual reality. We are being promised a life of comfort which is dangerous for both our bodies and even our souls, for such a lifestyle makes us become masters of our lives and more estranged from our spiritual life with You my God and Father Amen.

¹² I will surely gather all of you, O Jacob, I will gather the survivors of Israel; I will set them together like sheep in a fold, like a flock in its pasture; it will resound with people. ¹³ The one who breaks out will go up before them; they will break through and pass the gate, going out by it. Their king will pass on before them, the LORD at their head.

(Book of Small Prophets Micah Chapter 2 verses 12 to 13)

Oh God my beloved Father, I thank You for being in control of all that happens in our lives. I also thank You for choosing the appropriate people for each role chosen by Yourself both in the Roman Catholic Church and even in the other churches and even in worldly organisations. Thank You also for preparing us for such changes by making us aware of the signs that will take place before the moment of change takes place Amen.

Oh God my beloved Father, I would like to end the second chapter of the book of Small Prophet Micah with the following prayer:

Oh God my beloved Father, I thank You for loving me so much, and for always being close to me, even though at times I am not aware of Your presence. I pray for the time of my liberation from my situation and that we will walk together with our heads held high in a spirit of victory Amen. Thank You Jesus.
